FAQs

FAQs

  • What is the cost of therapy with private-pay? (Out-of-pocket)

We offer discounted rates for our private pay patients. Private pay means that you are paying out-of-pocket and NOT filing on your insurance. These rates may vary depending on the therapist and your appointment needs.

  • Insurance Benefits

We accept most insurance and are credentialed with most all major insurance companies.

    • BCBS in-network provider

    • Tricare

    • United Healthcare

    • MPCN

We have some therapists that still offer telehealth services, if your insurance has this as a benefit on your particular policy. You will need to check with your insurance company to verify whether this is a benefit on your plan or not.  Also, we do urge our patients to come to therapy in-person, as this is much more personal, and we find that it is an integral part of therapy.

  • Do you accept EAP (Employee Assistance Program) visits?

We do not accept EAP’s at this time.

  • Is your clinic a provider for my insurance?

Our providers are credentialed with most major insurance companies; however you will need to verify your particular coverage to know exactly. There is a very wide variety of insurance providers and first you’ll need to call your carrier and check the coverage carefully for behavioral/mental health benefits.  (Your customer service department should be able to help with your questions regarding this coverage). Things to ask when you call your insurance carrier:

    • Do I have mental/behavioral health benefits?

    • Do I need a referral from my primary care provider? (Some Tricare do)

    • How much will I owe for an out-of-network provider?

    • How many sessions per calendar year will my plan cover?

    • Has my deductible been met? If not, how much is left owed?

  • How do I make and/or cancel an appointment?

You will need to call our office at 601-693-8307 and our staff will be happy to assist you with your appointment questions and needs. As a reminder, we ask you to please give us a 24-hour notice if you are unable to make your appointment or need to reschedule. This allows us to see other patients who are in need. Missed appointments or late arrivals can incur a fee as per our late and cancellation policy agreement with all patients.

  • What form of payment does your office accept?

We accept cash, credit and debit cards including Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

  • Should I seek therapy?

There are many reasons people seek therapy. Some need help with coping skills with guilt, shame, loss, doubt, despair, depression and anxiety and therapy can help with these.  Some need help responding to unexpected changes in their lives, while others seek personal growth and self-exploration.

Therapy can help with problem solving skills, provide support, help enhance and build resilience coping for many issues such as; anxiety, depression, relationship troubles, lack of confidence, bereavement, spiritual conflicts, stress, body image issues, unresolved childhood issues and trauma.

We can help you understand why we think and feel the way we do, and why we act or react to things in life the way we do. We can then make a plan of action to help change any unwanted patterns by learning new coping skills and help build on the patterns that work for you. People who seek therapy must be willing to take responsibility for their actions and work toward creating greater awareness in their lives and work toward self change. All of our therapists are here to help you achieve this and much more!

  • Will my therapy sessions remain confidential?

The law protects the confidentiality of all communications between a client and a psychotherapist. Your information is not disclosed without written permission from the patient. There are very few exceptions to this rule.

    Exceptions include:

    • If a client intends to harm themselves or others. The therapist will make every effort to enlist cooperation in ensuring their safety.  If the client does not cooperate, further measures may be taken without the client’s permission in order to ensure everyone’s safety.

    • Suspected child abuse, elder and dependent adult abuse. All therapists are required by law to report these issues to the appropriate authorities.

  • What should I expect in my therapy sessions?

A session normally lasts 45-60 minutes. You are expected to talk about the primary concerns and issues that have brought you to therapy. You and your therapist will discuss how often you will need to be seen in order to reach your sought-after goals. Sometimes people who are in a crisis or in extreme distress need more than one session per week, at least until the crisis passes.

During the times between sessions, it is important to think about and process all that was discussed in your sessions.  There are times you may be asked to take particular actions outside of the therapy sessions, such as keep records of some sort and/or read a particular book or website. For your therapy to “truly work” you must be a very active participant in and outside of your sessions.
